PrairieLand Partners Test Plots

Come see in person what the new SeedStar 4HP ExactEmerge planter can do!  The Precision Ag team started early this spring near our Winfield location planting corn in a true side-by-side plot comparison.  The planter has traveled the state planting corn plots.  We want to thank the seven customers who agreed to host.  They graciously allowed us to interrupt their busy planting season and create these demonstration plots.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see how the features of the new ExactEmerge planter performed in the field where it matters.  These are true comparisons to show the advantages of electric drive, brush belt seed delivery and IRHD (Individual Row Hydraulic Downforce).

These fields have experienced hail storms and flooding rains.  Most are recovering and look good but one field was under water for at least five days and even the new planter can’t fix that.  Current plans are to find another field in the Hutchinson area to plant if possible.

June 14, 2019
Today we did a 360 Soil Scan on our Clay Center test plot, our tests showed we needed nitrogen and the corn was showing sulfur deficiency which we added with the 360 Y-Drops from 360 Yield Center.

June 6, 2019
Corn is growing at a good rate, every bit of 50 inches tall. Plant size was a little more uniform on the ExactEmerge side. Both sides are looking very well for what they’ve been through.

MARCH 21, 2019

On March 21, 2019 we planted 69.25 acres of corn.

McPherson Plot 2
June 17, 2019
The average plant size looked to be about 45-46 inches. Both planters performed well so the size of the plants was pretty consistent.

June 10, 2019
Plot 2 is looking extremely good, both the ExactEmerge and the Farmer planted areas.  The EE xactEmerge planter had perfect spacing as usual. The Farmer planter was still exceptionally good, little to no yield loss should have occurred from erratic spacing with it. Some areas where there was standing water had a little bit of a smaller plant size,  but overall the field had pretty even plant size.  The average plant size looked to be about 26 inches.

April 19, 2019
On April 19, 2019 we planted 41.89 acres of corn.
