Choosing the ZTrak Mower that's right for you

Mar. 14 2025 Buying Guide By PrairieLand Partners

You don’t need a green thumb to have a great-looking property. You just need the perfect tool that enhances your yard. Learning what makes your property special is a good start.

1. Answer a few questions about your yard.
2. Decide upon your personal level of comfort.
3. Find the perfect fit among the 16-model lineup.

That’s two thumbs up for easy.

APPROXIMATELY HOW LARGE IS THE LAWN YOU ARE MOWING?
Don’t use your whole property size. Remember that each machine has different features and slope operating limits. Never exceed those limits. Not all areas are appropriate for riding mowers.

Z300s : Up to 4 acres
Z500s : Up to 6 acres
Z700s : 8+ acres

WHAT IS THE TOP GROUND SPEED YOU PREFER FOR MOWING?
Mowing around trees, garden beds, and patios requires a slower, moderate speed. However, in open areas it’s easier to pick up the mowing pace.

Z300s : Up to 7 mph (11.3 km/h)
Z500s : Up to 9 mph (14.5 km/h)
Z700s : Up to 10 mph (16.1 km/h)

HOW MUCH POWER ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Bigger isn’t always better. Each zero-turn mower is designed to work with a specific range of mower deck sizes for a perfectly matched power-to-performance ratio.

Z300s : Up to 24 hp (17.9 kW)
Z500s : Up to 25 hp (18.6 kW)
Z700s : Up to 27 hp (20 kW)

WHAT TYPE OF COMFORT PACKAGE ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?

It’s surprising how bumpy and uneven the average lawn can be. And mowing at a time-saving pace means you will feel every hump and divot. That’s why comfort is key.

Z300s: Up to 20-in seat back with standard spring suspension, armrests on R-models. Electric models available.

Z700s: Up to 24-in seat back with ComfortGlide™ forward/backward up/down dial-in seat adjustment on several models, standard armrests, and adjustable suspension on all models.
